The driver representing Rodin Motorsport in Formula 3, Pedro Clerot delivered a solid performance in the two qualifying sessions held at Madring, the street circuit laid out in the streets of Madrid, Spain, for the season finale of 2026. In the first session conducted this Friday (11), the Brazilian finished in second place, while in the final grid-setting of the year, the owner of car number 17 was the third fastest.
Clerot and the F3 drivers had already driven at Madring three weeks earlier, when the category conducted tests at the circuit, which also hosts Formula 1 this weekend. After finishing ninth in the morning free practice, the Brazilian posted the second-best time, just 0.012 seconds away from the pole in the first qualifying. In the final grid determination of the day, the first champion in F4 Brazil history finished third, even after a touch with the wall while pursuing pole position.
“It’s the last stage of the championship and I felt really good during the practice. I think the result wasn’t very representative of the pace we had, but I’m very happy. We had two incredible qualifying sessions; I was one hundredth of a second from pole in the first, and a little under a tenth in the second. I was on a very strong lap in the second qualifying, but I lost the rear and hit the wall, but it’s all fine, the car will be ready for tomorrow,” said Pedro Clerot, who is backed by Banco BRB.
“I’m very happy to have a good qualifying weekend. We’ve always had this pace and now we’ve shown it. I’m glad to achieve this on such a difficult track. This has leveled the field and shown that we’re here to fight. Now it’s about turning this result into points, podiums, and closing the season in a strong way while contending for victories,” continued the Rodin Motorsport driver.
“We’ll try to overtake. We always have to push, and I think we can fight for the win tomorrow and Sunday. We’ll learn a lot in Saturday’s races, and we’ll bring these points home in the two main races. I’m confident and everything points to a great weekend. With results like this, it shows we’re always working,” concluded Clerot.
The first two Formula 3 races in Madrid will take place this Saturday, with the Sprint scheduled for 6:05 and the main race starting at 1:00 PM. The championship’s final race is on Sunday with a 4:45 AM start. F1TV will broadcast all three races live.
