Marco Bezzecchi was the fastest rider in the final free practice on Friday (11) for the San Marino Grand Prix, the 14th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the session held this morning at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the Aprilia rider and third in the championship clocked his best lap at 1 minute 30.144 seconds, securing a place in Q2 for the classification.
Second place went to Marc Márquez, the Ducati rider who led the weekend’s first session, but was beaten by Bezzecchi by 0.103 seconds. Álex Márquez, on a Gresini Ducati, finished the session with the third-best time, ahead of the VR46 duo, Ducati’s satellite team which saw Fabio Di Giannantonio finish in fourth, and Franco Morbidelli completing the group of the five fastest.
Pedro Acosta, aboard a KTM, finished the session with the sixth-best time, ahead of Luca Marini, seventh on a Honda. Johann Zarco, riding for LCR Honda, was eighth, with Pol Espargaró, on a Tech3 KTM, finishing ninth. The top ten in Misano was completed by the championship leader, Jorge Martín, the rider who defends Aprilia.
The sole Brazilian on the MotoGP grid, Diogo Moreira had a modest result in the session. The LCR Honda rider finished the session in 17th place and will therefore have to go through Q1 in Saturday morning in Italy.
The MotoGP resumes activities this Saturday (12) with a full day. At 5:10 a.m. there will be another free practice, followed by qualifying at 5:50 a.m. The Misano Sprint starts at 10:00 a.m. The San Marino Grand Prix is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
