The NASCAR Brasil stage in Chapecó ended on a positive note for Antonella Bassani. Racing near her hometown, the Santa Catarina native secured a solid comeback in the weekend’s final race, finishing second in the Challenge class and fourth in the overall standings.
With the Full Time #72 car, Antonella started from 12th position and advanced through the field. The driver fought for the victory in the Challenge and was also close to claiming third place in the overall classification.

The result came after a weekend that proved to be challenging. In the first race, Antonella started from the back of the grid and managed to gain positions, even contending for a top-10. A contact with another driver, however, ended her chances for a better result. In the second race, she finished 13th after receiving a penalty for a jump start.
“It was crazy. Race 1 wasn’t good; I couldn’t finish it due to a contact, but we knew the car had pace and a lot to evolve. Unfortunately I took a penalty in Race 2 for a jump start, but we managed to rally in the final stage, going from 12th to finish second in the Challenge and fourth overall, fighting for third place,” she said.
