Holder of car number 0 for Team RC in NASCAR Brasil, Cacá Bueno showed progress throughout Sunday (1), which marked the three races of the penultimate round of the championship, held at the Autódromo Internacional de Chapecó (SC). Cacá came close to the top-10 in the morning race, finished fifth in the second race, and saw an incident take away his chances for a podium in the weekend’s final race after having been the runner-up in the race.
“The tire punctured during qualifying, and that set the tone for the weekend. And I was losing engine power as the weekend progressed. But I managed to start from 21st and finish 11th in the morning. In the afternoon, I advanced from 11th to fifth in the first segment, and I stayed in second for a good portion of the final race, but the engine power disparity was too large by the end of the weekend. We end up defending,” said Cacá Bueno, after the race.
“In the accident, I knew that (Gabriel) Casagrande and the (Arthur) Gama would already be first and second, but I was fighting for the podium with Alfredinho Ibiapina and Ricardo Zonta. I had a better start than Ibiapina, I was overtaking the two through the middle, and Zonta didn’t see me. I spoke with him, who is my friend, and he said he didn’t see me. Then we tangled and there was the accident. It’s a pity, because the damage isn’t only material, as I was left out of the playoff. It’s part of it,” completed Cacá Bueno, who has sponsorships from Capital Concreto, PicPay, ACDelco, SpeedMax Pneus, Pneu Store, Milwaukee, Turbi and Chevrolet.
The NASCAR Brasil decision will be contested on November 29, at the Nelson Piquet International Raceway, in Brasília (DF).
