F3: Stromsted Wins Dramatic Race in Austria as Clerot Finishes Top 5

June 28, 2026

Noah Stromsted claimed victory in the early hours of Sunday (the 28th) in the main race of the fourth round of the 2026 Formula 3 season, held at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. In a highly eventful race, the Trident driver took the lead with three laps remaining, after overtaking his teammate Freddie Slater, securing the win.

Second place went to Ugo Ugochukwu, a Campos Racing driver who led for portions of the battle and who overtook Slater on the final lap, leaving the Trident rider in third. Pedro Clerot delivered a strong performance to finish fourth for Rodin Motorsport after capitalising on rivals’ battles to move up four positions. Jin Nakamura, from Hitech, completed the top five.

Taito Kato, driving for ART Grand Prix, crossed the finish line in sixth place at the end of the 26 laps, followed by Tuukka Taponen in seventh for MP Motorsport. Hiyu Yamakoshi finished eighth with Van Amersfoort, ahead of Nicola Lacorte in ninth for DAMS. Kanato Le, of ART Grand Prix, was tenth.

The race featured several neutralisations. Right at the first lap, the Safety Car was deployed after an incident involving Maciej Gladysz and Yevan David, with both drivers out of the race. Then, with five laps to go, another contact, this time involving Woohyun Shin and Fernando Barrichello, prompted the activation of the Virtual Safety Car.

The 2026 Formula 3 season will resume next weekend, when the fifth round is scheduled to be held at the Silverstone Circuit in England.
