F2: Dunne Leads Free Practice at Silverstone as Câmara Sets Second-Fastest Time

Alexander Dunne was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the seventh round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held on Friday morning (3) at the Silverstone circuit in England. The Rodin Motorsport driver, currently fourth in the standings, recorded the best time of the session with a lap of 1:42.065.

The second place went to Brazilian Rafael Câmara, a driver for Invicta, who finished 0.071 seconds behind Dunne. Dino Beganovic, driving for DAMS, was third, also less than a tenth off the best time of the session. Sebastian Montoya, with Prema, finished fourth, followed by Roman Bilinski, fifth for DAMS.

Leader in the standings, Gabriele Mini placed the MP Motorsport car in sixth, ahead of Joshua Durksen, seventh with Invicta Racing. John Bennett, from Trident, ended the session in eighth, while Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, from ART Grand Prix, was ninth. Kush Maini, Mini’s teammate, finished tenth.

Who came very close to breaking into the top ten group was the championship’s vice-leader, Nikola Tsolov. The Bulgarian Campos Racing driver posted the 11th time in the session this morning. Another championship highlight, Noel León, placed Campos’ other car in 17th. Emmo Fittipaldi, from AIX Racing, was 20th.

From 10:55 a.m., the qualifying will determine the starting grid for the two Formula 2 races over the weekend. The Sprint is scheduled for Saturday, with the start at 9:45 a.m., while the main race takes place on Sunday, starting at 7:15 a.m.
