Ernesto Rivera was the fastest driver in the lone free practice for the fifth round of Formula 3, held on Friday morning (3) at the Silverstone circuit in England. The Mexican, driving for Campos Racing, was second on the track with a time of 1:46.319, but saw Freddie Slater, the session’s fastest, be disqualified for not having the minimum amount of fuel in his car.
The second place went to Matteo de Palo, a Trident driver who was 0.054 seconds slower than Rivera. Hiyo Yamakoshi completed the session with the third-fastest time in a Van Amersfoort car, the team that saw Enzo Deligny finish the session with the fourth-best time. Théophile Naël, with Campos Racing, was fifth.

Fionn McLaughlin, driving for Hitech, finished the session with the sixth-best time, ahead of Ugo Ugochukwu, the championship leader and seventh-fastest with Campos Racing. Noah Stromsted, of Trident, ended the session in eighth, with Louis Sharp, of Prema, ninth. Jin Nakamura, from Prema, closes the group of the top ten.
