David Alonso claimed victory this Sunday (the 28th) at the Dutch Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2026 Moto2 season, held at the Assen circuit. The Aspar rider engaged in one of the most intense battles for a win this year in the category, pulling ahead in the final metres of the last of the 22 laps, winning by 0.024 seconds.
The runner-up position went to González, the championship leader and Intact GP rider who led much of the race, yielding to Alonso’s late challenge in the final meters. Agius, on the other Intact GP bike, completed the podium two tenths behind the winner. Izan Guevara, aboard a Pramac motorcycle, finished fourth, followed by Ivan Ortolá in fifth on a MSI machine.

Daniel Holgado crossed the finish line in sixth place aboard an Aspar bike, ahead of Alex Escrig, seventh on a KLINT-prepared machine. Adrian Žuertas was eighth with Italtrans, while Alberto Ferrandez, from Pramac, finished ninth. Filip Salač, of American Racing Team, completed the top-10.
The race featured the crash of Celestino Vietti, one of the title contenders for the 2026 season, still in the first half of the event. Other riders who went down in Assen were Daniel Muñoz and Deniz Oncu. All retired before the 22 laps were completed.
The next Moto2 round will be the German Grand Prix, scheduled for July 12 at the Sachsenring circuit.
