Driver for Full Time Sports in NASCAR Brasil, Tito Giaffone won this Sunday, the 31st, the second race of the third stage of the championship, held at the Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo (SP), among the competitors in the Challenge category. The owner of car number 15 delivered a combative race and took the lead of the event in the closing stages, securing the class victory and fourth place overall after 30 minutes of racing.
After finishing fourth in the Challenge class in the first race of the day, held in the morning with light drizzle at Interlagos, Tito admitted that he did not expect to have such a strong pace in the dry. Competing for positions against very experienced drivers, the Giaffone Mission Zero representative had solid duels and secured the victory, his first at Interlagos in these cars and his second in NASCAR Brasil.
“I am very happy, because it was a weekend that began with great challenges. The car wouldn’t accelerate, although it performed well in the rain. I went into the dry race with low expectations, but everything went right. We had clean and good battles, and now we have to maintain this pace for the rest of the year. I want to thank PX and Full Time. We’re going all out for the next stage,” commented Tito Giaffone, who is sponsored by PX.
The Giaffone family’s celebration at Interlagos had already begun earlier in the Copa Truck, when Nic Giaffone triumphed in the Elite. “Very happy to be on track seeing my two sons win at Interlagos. It’s a dream come true to be able to watch all of this up close,” says Felipe Giaffone, eight-time Brazilian champion in trucks.
After passing through the Autódromo de Interlagos, NASCAR Brasil continues in the state of São Paulo and will stage its fourth round on June 28, when it visits Velocitta, a race track located in Mogi Guaçu.
