Rafael Câmara seized pole position on Friday (the 4th) for the tenth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season. In the qualifying session held this morning at Monza’s Autodromo Nazionale, the Invicta Racing driver posted his best lap in 1m31.326s, earning the top spot for the fifth time this year.
Invicta also saw Joshua Durksen secure second on the grid for Sunday, after being edged by Câmara by 0.057 seconds. Alexander Dunne, who led this morning’s free practice, will start third with Rodin Motorsport, lining up on the second row alongside Noel León, fourth with Campos Racing. Martinius Stenshorne, from Rodin, completes the top five.
Leader of the championship, Nikola Tsolov will start from sixth on the grid for the main race with a Campos Racing car. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, from ART Grand Prix, took seventh, while Ritomo Miyata, of Hitech, begins eighth. Oliver Goethe, from MP Motorsport, finished ninth, with John Bennett, of Trident, in tenth, lining up on pole for the Sprint. Emmo Fittipaldi will start 19th with AIX Racing.
With Friday’s qualifying results, Câmara matches Gabriele Mini’s points, the championship’s vice-leader and only 11th on the grid for both races with MP Motorsport. The gap between Tsolov and the Invicta driver in the standings drops to 20 points following this pole.
The F2 Sprint will take place this Saturday (5), starting at 9:15 a.m., while the main race will be held on Sunday, with a start at 4:45 a.m.
