Gabriele Mini was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the fourth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season. In the session held on the morning of Thursday the 4th at the street circuit in Monaco, MP Motorsport’s driver, the championship leader, posted a time of 1:21.809 in the closing moments of the session.
The second position ended up in Kush Maini’s hands, ART Grand Prix driver who finished 0.020 seconds behind Mini. Alexander Dunne, from Rodin Motorsport, closed the session with the third-fastest time, ahead of Dino Beganovic, fourth in a DAMS car. The group of the five best also included Laurens van Hoepen, with Trident.
Nikola Tsolov, Campos Racing driver, finished the session with the sixth-best time, while Noel León, his teammate at Campos Racing, was seventh. Roman Bilinski, with DAMS, was eighth, while Martinius Stenshorne, from Rodin, completed the session in ninth. Rafael Câmara, the championship’s vice-leader, was tenth with Invicta. Emmo Fittipaldi took AIX Racing to 19th.
The session was interrupted just ten minutes in when Oliver Goethe stalled the MP Motorsport car on track, triggering the red flag. With 18 minutes to go, Rafael Villagómez stopped against the wall with the Van Amersfoort car.
Formula 2’s Monaco schedule will continue on Friday (5) with qualifying, scheduled for 10:10. The Sprint is set for 9:15 on Saturday, while the main race starts at 4:35 on Sunday.
