F2: Câmara Penalized, Drops Out of Sprint Points in the Austrian Round

June 28, 2026

The Brazilian Rafael Câmara received a five-second addition to his final race time after the Sprint of the sixth round of the championship, held this Saturday (27) at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. Pacing sixth on the track, the Invicta Racing driver was deemed responsible for an incident on the first lap of this morning’s short race, and dropped to ninth place.

The incident with Câmara occurred on the first lap. The Brazilian touched the car of Thai driver Tasanapol Intraphuvasak, from ART Grand Prix, which spun and retired from the race. The stewards ruled that an incident ahead of the two caused a “domino effect,” but nonetheless chose to penalize the current Formula 3 champion.

The five seconds push Câmara out of the points zone for the weekend’s sprint. In the Sprint, only the top eight score points toward the championship, which means Roman Bilinski, Kush Maini and Nikola Tsolov advance one position each. Still, the Invicta driver earned a point thanks to the fastest lap of the race.

The main race of the weekend will take place on Sunday, with the start at 5:10 a.m. Câmara will start from fifth place.
