Charles Leclerc confirmed Ferrari’s solid performance and led the second free practice session of the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix, held this Friday (the 30th) at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. After also finishing FP1 in first place, the Monégasque clocked 1:17.827 and edged Lando Norris of McLaren by just 0.103 seconds. George Russell finished third, only 0.003 behind Norris, while Kimi Antonelli and Max Verstappen completed the top five. Isack Hadjar, Arvid Lindblad, Pierre Gasly, Liam Lawson, and Oscar Piastri rounded out the top 10.
Gabriel Bortoleto faced technical issues with his Audi and ended up 22nd and last. The Brazilian lost nearly 47 minutes of the session while the team worked on his car, managing to complete only ten laps and record 1:20.174. His teammate Nico Hülkenberg finished 15th. The session was also marked by a red flag after a contact between Verstappen and Lawson, in addition to mechanical problems that cut Lewis Hamilton’s participation short.
