MotoGP: Acosta Wins Eventful Sprint at the Malaysian Grand Prix

November 2, 2026

Pedro Acosta won this Saturday (the 31st) the Sprint race at the Malaysian Grand Prix, the 19th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. The KTM rider lined up from third on the Sepang circuit, and in one of the most action-packed races, he overtook Ai Ogura on the eighth of the ten laps, withstood the late pressure from Marc Márquez, and took the victory.

Second place went to Márquez, the Ducati rider who finished just 0.578 seconds behind Acosta after ten laps, widening the championship lead over Jorge Martín, who did not race due to the injury suffered in the Australia Sprint. Marco Bezzecchi, on an Aprilia, completed the podium in third.
