Update: After the completion of Saturday’s activities, the starting grid was updated by the NASCAR Brasil organization. With the revision, Galid Osman moved to fifth position, while Thiago Camilo inherited the pole for the Velocitta round.
The attainment of pole position for NASCAR Brasil’s Velocitta round this Saturday (27) was viewed by Galid Osman as a potential turning point in the 2026 season. After winning the Sprint Race that determined the front-row of the grid on Saturday, the Cavaleiro Sports driver highlighted the significance of the result and stated that the performance could bring the team back into championship contention.
After a solid performance on Friday, Osman began Saturday in 20th place in the second free practice, but showed progress in the standings. Galid advanced to Q2 in the fifth position of his group and, in the decisive phase of the qualifying, posted a lap of 1 minute 38.788 seconds to secure the best time.

With that, he started from pole for the Sprint Race, gave up the lead right at the start, but reclaimed it in the opening corners by sweeping past his rival. From there, he held the top spot for the five laps of the race and secured his first pole position in the category in 2026.
Following the qualifying, Osman celebrated the result and expressed confidence in the rest of the season: “I am incredibly happy. We’ve had a tough year, so I believe this could be a turning point for the remainder of the championship, because there’s still time. If we do everything perfectly, we can still contend for the title. This is my second pole in the category, on such a strong grid, so I hope to turn this result into a victory tomorrow.”

The Velocitta round will feature two races scheduled for Sunday, with the first in the morning and the second in the afternoon. The events will be broadcast by SBT, ESPN, Disney+, and NASCAR Brasil’s official YouTube channel.
