NASCAR Brasil Stages Decisive Round in Cuiabá with Night Race and New Track Layout

July 3, 2026

The fifth stage of NASCAR Brasil’s 2026 season will take place on August 1 at the Cuiabá Autodrome (MT), and it is already on the radar as one of the year’s most challenging races. The race will last 1 hour and 10 minutes, feature a mandatory pit stop, mark the debut on the circuit’s outer loop, and the traditional Night Challenge, contested at night under artificial lighting.

The round marks the 14th edition of a night race in the series, a tradition that began back in the Sprint Race Brasil era, which pioneered this format in Brazilian motorsport.

Night Challenge has visited several circuits over the years. Its main venue has been the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, in Londrina (PR), which hosted ten editions. The format has also appeared at Interlagos, with the 2018 Race of Champions won by Diego Ramos, and the Sunset Race in 2024, won by Daniel Suárez. In 2025, Cascavel hosted the event at the Autódromo Zilmar Beux de Cascavel, with Thiago Camilo taking the victory.

After four rounds on mixed circuits, the season now enters the outer-loop phase, a layout that tends to balance performance and heighten the chances of an upset. With distinct characteristics, the circuit demands significant suspension, aerodynamics, and straight-line speed adjustments, factors that can reshape the championship scene.

Beyond the visual spectacle of a night race under the lights, the nocturnal schedule helps reduce wear on drivers and cars due to the cooler temperatures in Cuiabá.
