F2: Monaco Pit Stop Scare Nearly Ends in an Accident

June 7, 2026

In Formula 2, a moment of intense apprehension unfolded in the closing moments of the main race in Monaco. A member of the event’s operations team crossed the pit area precisely as several cars were heading into the pit lane, narrowly escaping an accident.

The incident occurred near the pit entry on the final stretch of the race. At that moment, Colton Herta, Nico Varrone and Joshua Dürksen were approaching to carry out their mandatory stops, heightening the risk of the situation.

Images showed the employee crossing the pit lane just before the cars arrived. Despite the scare, he managed to cross in time and none of the drivers needed to perform abrupt maneuvers to avoid a collision.

The incident immediately drew attention due to its potential severity. The presence of people in a high-speed area such as the pit entry is regarded as one of the sport’s greatest risks, particularly during a race.
