Gabriel Bortoleto commented on the incident of the asphalt coming loose during the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. This Sunday (7), the driver recounted a strange moment in that turn, but he isn’t sure if it was related to the track, even though he acknowledges that what happened isn’t ideal.
The day began on a rough note for the Brazilian Audi driver, who had trouble leaving the pits and had to start from the pit lane. As the laps went by, he gradually used the chaos up ahead to gain positions.
Then, in the final stretch of the race, Lance Stroll and Charles Leclerc collided at the same spot, Turn 19. After Leclerc’s crash, a red flag was necessary, and it became apparent that the asphalt was peeling away, causing the crashes. After more than 30 minutes of stoppage, the race resumed with seven laps left, and Bortoleto finished 12th.
