Mathieu Jaminet will be taking the wheel of the Porsche Penske #5 for the upcoming weekend’s World Endurance Championship. The driver will be replacing Michael Christensen for the 6 hours of Fuji in Japan.
According to the list of entrants released for the event, the competitor will be joining Julien Andlauer in the Porsche #963 #5 for the penultimate round of the 2025 WEC season.
A Porsche Penske spokesperson stated that the change is due to Christensen’s commitment to a test with AO Racing prior to the final round of the WeatherTech SportsCar at Road Atlanta.
This will mark Jaminet’s fifth appearance in the WEC season, having previously been the third driver for Porsche at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as competing in Qatar, Imola, and the Circuit of The Americas – his best result being sixth in the French event.
For the Fuji event, Porsche will be running with only two drivers per car, with Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor driving the #6 as they have for the rest of the year.
For the final round in Bahrain in early November, it is expected that Jaminet and Matt Campbell will return as third drivers for the #5 and #6 cars, respectively.
