With a strong possibility of being crowned champion at the Japanese GP this weekend, Spanish rider Marc Márquez will secure his ninth world title and seventh in MotoGP if he scores three points more than his brother Álex Márquez in the two races of the weekend, in Motegi.
Marc acknowledges that there will be more tension in the air this weekend.
“We will try to maintain the same atmosphere. It’s true that it’s difficult, because the body knows that something big is coming”, said Márquez.
“I know it will be a difficult press conference on Thursday, answering the same questions about winning the title this weekend, but we will try to maintain the same mentality and, above all, I want to maintain the same level.”
The rider stated that he intends to compete to win in Motegi.
“This means fighting for victory, even if the title is at stake”.
“It won’t be easy to close in Motegi because Álex, as we saw in the Misano test, is running fast everywhere.”
