António Félix da Costa Returns to Endurance World Championship Grid
António Félix da Costa is making a comeback to the Endurance World Championship grid. On Tuesday (21), Alpine announced the Portuguese driver as part of their Hypercar squad for the 2026 season.
Da Costa was the champion of the LMP2 class with JOTA in 2022, and now he returns to the category after two seasons away – his last year was in 2023. During this period, he focused exclusively on his work with Porsche in Formula E.
However, his departure from the German brand left the door open for Da Costa to return to the WEC, once again competing in the Hypercars, where he previously raced with the Heartz Team JOTA in 2023 – driving a Porsche 963.
“I’m very happy to join Alpine. Returning to the Endurance World Championship was one of my main goals, and I’m extremely satisfied to do it with a manufacturer that is boldly redefining itself and now competes at the forefront of endurance racing,” he said.
“Alpine is a brand with a strong tradition in motorsport, and being part of such an impressive ecosystem is truly exciting. The team has shown high-level performance and recently achieved their first victory with the A424, making this the perfect time to start our collaboration,” he continued.
“Everyone knows my passion for endurance racing. I’ve worked hard to develop myself as a complete driver in this discipline, and after winning the LMP2 title, my goal now is to contribute to Alpine’s success at the top. I’m looking forward to working with the team, my teammates, and all the engineers and mechanics,” he concluded.
