2026 Renault Kwid E-Tech Electric Restyled Model Arrives Priced at $19,990 to Compete with BYD Dolphin Mini

October 23, 2025

On the eve of the launch of BYD’s car production in Brazil, in Camaçari (BA), Renault took the opportunity to officially present the new Kwid E-Tech 2026, considered the most affordable 100% electric vehicle in the country, now with a new design, more embedded technology, and an unprecedented safety package in the segment. The model maintains a price starting at R$ 99,990 and comes in a single version, the Techno. Originally launched in 2022, the Kwid E-Tech consolidates itself as the gateway to electric mobility in the country, with an urban, efficient, and accessible proposal.

“At Renault Group, we offer various solutions for the needs of each market, and our history with electric vehicles began in 2010. We have over 15 years of experience in designing, developing, manufacturing, and marketing 100% electric vehicles. In Brazil, Renault was also a pioneer in electric vehicles,” explains Ariel Montenegro, president and general director of Renault do Brasil.

Bolder Design

Along with efficiency, price, and practicality, design is one of the essential elements to awaken in drivers the desire to have a 100% electric car. The new Kwid E-Tech features a robust and bold style. This combination is spectacular both inside, where all elements have a new design, and outside, with all new body parts, except for the roof. With well-structured lines, the new Kwid E-Tech is based on a simple, clean, and rational silhouette, like the hood, with its heavily sculpted lines.

The new brand identity is evident in the black stripes installed on the front and rear with a black piano finish, with exclusive dark gray stripes on the rear. The model is quite striking with the daytime running lights on the front and the rear parking lights, all LED.

The new Kwid E-Tech is available in five colors: the new slate blue and terracotta red, in addition to the already known glacier white, étolie silver, and Noronha green.

Internal Design: Renovated, Practical, Digital

The front panel has been completely reinvented, both to integrate the new internal design language, which is differentiated by a more horizontal architecture, and to embark on a new range of digital screens. The new Kwid E-Tech features a 7″ digital and customizable instrument panel and a 10″ multimedia system, with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In the new Kwid E-Tech, white-painted elements in the structure contribute to creating a modern environment. They are located around the instrument cluster, on the gear lever, and on the door trim.

Practicality is the essence of the new Kwid E-Tech’s design. Therefore, the multimedia system was installed in the highest possible position to optimize ergonomics. The graphical design of the 7″ digital and customizable instrument panel was designed to privilege simplicity and intuitiveness, allowing the driver to have quick access to essential information.

More Safety with 11 ADAS Systems

The new Kwid E-Tech is the only one in its category with 11 advanced driver assistance systems, including:

  • Alert and Lane Departure Warning (LDW and LKA): acts on the steering to keep the vehicle centered in the lane when it detects a risk of involuntary exit.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): detects vehicles ahead and, in case of imminent collision risk, issues visual and audible alerts. If the driver does not react, the system automatically applies the brakes to avoid or mitigate the impact.
  • Speed Limit Sign Recognition (TSR): identifies speed limit signs and displays alerts on the panel, helping the driver to respect traffic rules.
  • Driver Fatigue Sensor (DDAW): monitors the driver’s behavior and suggests a break when it identifies signs of fatigue or loss of attention.
  • Hill Start Assist (HSA): keeps the vehicle in the same position for two seconds, preventing it from rolling back when the driver takes their foot off the brake pedal to accelerate on a sloping road with a gradient greater than 3%.
  • Speed Limiter (SL): limits the speed chosen by the driver, preventing acceleration above the set limit.
  • Cruise Control (CC): maintains the car at the programmed speed without the need to press the accelerator. It also contributes to reducing fuel consumption.
  • Reverse Camera (RVC): visualization of the environment at the rear of the car, facilitating parking maneuvers and helping to avoid collisions.
  • Front and Rear Parking Sensors (UPAF and UPAR): audible alerts emitted from the proximity of vehicles and objects at the rear of the vehicle, avoiding bumps and assisting the driver in parking maneuvers.

In addition, the model comes equipped with six airbags as standard.
