The WEC lands at the Interlagos Autodrome this weekend to host the 6 Hours of São Paulo, the fourth round of the 2026 season. TOYOTA RACING enters the competition scheduled for this Sunday (12), fueled by the victory at Le Mans, which earned them the lead in both the World Constructors’ and World Drivers’ Championships, as they aim to extend their record of wins in the city of São Paulo, a record they already hold.
The Japanese manufacturer is the only one to have won twice at the 4.309-kilometer circuit located in the southern part of São Paulo. TOYOTA RACING triumphed in 2012, in the Brazilian round’s inaugural edition, marking the first time the team claimed WEC victory, and again in 2024, precisely the year the Endurance World Championship returned to Brazil, now under the current Hypercar regulations.

This time, however, TOYOTA RACING arrives at the Brazilian round as the Le Mans winner, something that did not occur in the other two Interlagos triumphs. More than that, the Toyota TR010 HYBRID No. 7 crew, composed of Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway, and Nyck de Vries, aims to become the first in history to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 6 Hours of São Paulo in the same year.
“The spirit of the entire team remains extremely positive after Le Mans. So we’re all eager to get back out on track. With the updated car, we certainly anticipate a much better race in São Paulo than last year, which was really tough for us. As always, it won’t be easy, but we are ready and looking forward to the weekend,” De Vries said.
The trio of the Toyota TR010 HYBRID No. 8, consisting of Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa, also arrives in Brazil aiming at a new milestone for them. If they win, in addition to delivering TOYOTA RACING its third victory in Interlagos, they will become the first drivers to win the 6 Hours of São Paulo twice.

“I didn’t race in the 6 Hours of São Paulo last year, so I’m excited to race at Interlagos again. It’s a special track and a special atmosphere. It’s quite demanding to race there, being an old-school, narrow circuit with many elevation changes and a good variety of corners. I hope our car performs well there so we can contend for the top positions again,” Buemi said.
The WEC schedule in Interlagos will begin on Friday (10), with two free practice sessions. Saturday will feature one more session and the qualifying that will determine the starting grid. The 6 Hours of São Paulo will take place on Sunday, starting at 11:30, broadcast on BandSports and YouTube.
