Toyota won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the planet’s most important endurance race, which concluded this Sunday (14) at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Car number 7, driven by Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Nyck de Vries, took the lead in the late stages of the battle and went on to win the event, the manufacturer’s sixth victory at the race, which is part of the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

The second place went to BMW, with the trio Robin Frijns, René Rast and Sheldon van der Linde. The Le Mans podium also featured the other Toyota on the grid, this one piloted by Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa.

Cadillac, with Team JOTA, finished fourth with Will Stevens, Norman Nato and Louis Delétraz, after leading part of the race. The top five also included Ferrari driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi.

The sole Brazilian in the Hypercar category, Pipo Derani, withdrew the Genesis car, the team making its debut in the world’s premier endurance race. The outfit, however, finished the race with its other car, driven by Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin and Daniel Juncadella, which ended in 13th place.

In LMP2, the victory went to Inter Europol, with drivers Tom Dillmann, Nick Yellolly and Jakub Smiechowski. Second place went to Nico Müller, Bijoy Garg and Reshad de Gerus, completing a one-two for the team. Forestier Raing by Panis, with Louis Rousset, Esteban Masson and Oliver Gray, completed the podium.

Pietro Fittipaldi and his teammates, Vladislav Lomko and Ryan Cullen, finished the race in fourth place with Vector Sport. Daniel Schneider, who raced alongside Ben Hanley and Oliver Jarvis, concluded the event in 15th place.

In LMGT3, Cadillac took the victory with Jonny Edgar, Nyck Catsburg and Ben Keating. Lexus, with Jack Hawksworth, Hadrien David and Tom van Rompuy, finished in second place, while Dudu Barrichello, Gray Newell and Jonny Adam completed the podium in an Aston Martin. Augusto Farfus finished seventh, Custódio Toledo eighth, and Daniel Serra tenth.

The 2026 WEC season will continue on July 12 with the running of the 6 Hours of São Paulo, the Brazilian round of the championship to be held at the Interlagos Circuit.
