The Brazilian Rafael Câmara secured another podium in the 2026 Formula 2 season this Sunday (6), by finishing the main race of the championship’s tenth round, held at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, in second place. The Invicta Racing driver also reduced the gap to the championship leader as the category concluded its visit to Italy.

Após a parada nos boxes, o brasileiro que integra o Ferrari Driver Academy retornou pouco mais de dois segundos distante da ponta, e aos poucos reduziu a diferença, chegando próximo nas voltas finais, e terminando 0,4 segundos atrás do vencedor.
“Everything went well at the start. I managed to reach second place and, from there, I just tried to hold position. Of course I hoped there wouldn’t be a Safety Car right at the start, because, for Joshua (Durksen) and for me, after the Safety Car period, that would have been a problem for one of us. But, so far, everything went well,” Câmara explained.
“We managed to run a calm race. Then, at the pit stop, I think we lost a bit of time being stuck among all the cars. But overall, I think it was a very good and solid race, after we had a bit of bad luck yesterday. It was good to claim some important points today,” Câmara added.
The owner of five pole positions in the 2026 season, Câmara also has two victories, earned at Barcelona and Spa-Francorchamps, in addition to six podiums this year, counting the second place secured this morning. The Brazilian reached 166 points and cut the gap to the championship leader from 22 to 11 points.
The 2026 Formula 2 season will continue next weekend, when the category will race for the first time on Madring, a street circuit located in Madrid, Spain.
