A driver for Full Time Sports in NASCAR Brasil, Tito Giaffone faced a demanding fifth round of the season in Cuiabá (MT). The owner of car number 15 finished sixth among the contenders in the Challenge category in the final stage of the race held on Saturday night on the external loop of the Autódromo Internacional de Mato Grosso, after recovering from an incident in the opening phase of the competition.
Right at the start of the race, Tito slid off the track into the gravel. After managing to return to the circuit, the driver secured ninth place in his category in the opening segment in the Mato Grosso capital. In the final phase, the driver—in his second year in NASCAR Brasil—showed solid pace and crossed the finish line sixth in the Challenge, and 11th overall.
“Overall, it was a good learning step. There is a lot for us to study in order to advance for the upcoming rounds, starting with Londrina. Cuiabá was challenging for us. In the first stage, I got involved in an accident, I spun, but managed to get back into the race. The car had a lot of gravel on it and, as a result, I couldn’t run at a good pace. In the final stage, yes, I had a good pace and finished sixth in the Challenge,” Tito Giaffone said.
With the results in Cuiabá, Tito Giaffone sits in fourth place in the Challenge championship, accumulating 113 points, with a campaign that includes one victory at Interlagos, three podiums and five top-five finishes, in addition to eight top-10s.
The NASCAR Brasil season continues in 2026 on August 22 and 23, when it visits the Ayrton Senna International Raceway in Londrina, Paraná, for the sixth round of the year, and the penultimate before the playoffs that will crown the title.
