The driver who defends Team RC in NASCAR Brasil, Cacá Bueno, clinched second place in the Sprint Race that defined the starting grid for the fifth round of the 2026 season on Friday night (31). Consequently, the driver of car number 0 will start from the front row in the race scheduled for the outer loop of the Autódromo Internacional de Mato Grosso, in Cuiabá (MT).
The driver of car number 0 showed strength in the opening phase of the qualifying, recording the second-best time among the 24 drivers, earning a spot on the Sprint Race grid. In the race, held shortly after and lasting five laps, Cacá stayed close to the leader the whole time and secured the second position that puts him on the front row for Saturday’s stage.
“I’m happy, because the day seemed to be tougher after the practice sessions. I finished 14th in yesterday’s practice and eighth in this morning’s free practice. The car was very rear-heavy, and we managed to improve it for qualifying. The team gave me a better car, to the point that, with the headwind, I turned faster than in the practice runs. And I’m happy with myself, because I did a lap where I gave everything and there was nothing left. It was a perfect lap,” said Cacá Bueno, who is sponsored by Betnacional, Capital Concreto, PicPay, ACDelco, SpeedMax Pneus, Pneu Store, Milwaukee, Turbi and Chevrolet.
“I thought it would be a lap for pole, and even so we couldn’t manage it because we were too far back. The team struggled to find that balance, but I finished second. In the race, at times, I could try something to take the lead, but Alfredinho Ibiapina was very solid. Finishing second on a day that looked tough makes me happy. But we need to improve the car’s rear for the race,” added Cacá.
After the Sprint Race, NASCAR Brasil will hold the Cuiabá leg on Saturday (1), with a start at 6:00 p.m., Brasília time. ESPN, Disney+ and YouTube will broadcast the race live.
