MotoGP News: Marc Márquez Reveals Misano Test Key to Understanding 2026 Motorcycle

September 20, 2025

Following his victory in the main event of the San Marino GP, Marc Márquez finished sixth in the combined time table of the MotoGP test on Monday. The Spaniard stated that he used the day more to understand the direction he would like to take for the 2026 bike rather than working towards the upcoming Asian races in the 2025 season.

“It was a long day. After yesterday’s difficult race, my body wasn’t 100% and we decided to stop a bit earlier,” Márquez told Sky Italia.

“I tested some things again, like the fairing and some balances, with several modifications that helped us understand where we were better and where we were worse. We worked that way to understand which direction to take for the future and arrive at the Valencia tests one step ahead.”

“We focused more on the rear of the bike than on the front, because it’s really hard to understand things when you have the kind of super high grip we have on this track.”

“So, we tested the priority things early in the morning, when the conditions were more similar to those of the race weekend.”

Regarding the difference between the 2024 and 2025 fairings, Márquez said that he was able to set the same lap time, but “with a different riding style”.

“With one, we have more speed in the corners, with the other, we have more braking stability. But both are working well.”
