F3: Stromsted Leads Free Practice in Austria as Clerot Finishes in the Top 10

Noah Stromsted was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the fourth round of the 2026 Formula 3 season, held in the early hours of Friday morning (26) at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. In his best lap of the session, the Trident driver posted 1m22.410s, not being surpassed by his rivals.

Second place went to Taito Kato, ART Grand Prix driver who ended up 0.101s behind Stromsted. Freddie Slater, with Trident, was third, ahead of Ernesto Rivera, fourth with Campos Racing. The top five on the Austrian track was completed by Theophile Nael, of Campos Racing.

Jin Nakamura, driving a car from Hitech, finished the session with the sixth-best time, ahead of Pedro Clerot, the Brazilian who races for Rodin Motorsport and was seventh. Bruno del Pino, from Van Amersfoort, was eighth, while Hiyu Yamakoshi, his teammate, was ninth. Kanato Le, from ART Grand Prix, was tenth.

Those who posted a rather modest performance in this first weekend session were Ugo Ugochukwu, Campos Racing driver who finished with the 17th-best time. Fernando Barrichello, with an AIX Racing car, also had a subdued result in the session, recording the 30th time.

From 10:00, the classification will determine the starting positions for the weekend’s races. On Saturday, at 05:05, the Sprint will be contested, while the feature race is scheduled for 15:40 on Sunday.
