After more than a month without racing, Formula 3 resumes the 2026 season this weekend at Italy’s Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, opening its decisive phase. The trip to the fast Italian circuit marks the penultimate of the nine rounds in this year’s championship, and adds another chapter to the battle for the title.
Freddie Slater, driving for Trident, leads the championship with 130 points, ahead of 122 for Ugo Ugochukwu, the vice-leader with Campos Racing. Theophile Nael sits in third with 75 points, while Ernesto Rivera, on 72, and Brando Badoer, on 71, complete the top five. Pedro Clerot has 48 points and sits tenth, while Fernando Barrichello has two points and ranks 27th.
The F3 schedule in Monza will begin on Friday, when the weekend’s sole free practice session and the qualifying that determines the starting grid for the two races take place. The Sprint is set for Saturday at 4:30, while the main event starts at 3:15 on Sunday. F1TV will broadcast all activities live.
