Roman Stanek secured the pole position for the tenth round of the 2025 Formula 2 season. In the qualifying session held on Friday morning (1) at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary, the Czech driver from Invicta recorded a time of 1min28s779, guaranteeing the honor position for Sunday’s race for the first time in this year’s championship.
Invicta also saw Leonardo Fornaroli, the championship leader, take the second position, with a time 0s146 shy of Stanek’s. Jak Crawford, with a DAMS car, will start from the third position, sharing the second row with Luke Browning, who finished fourth with the Hitech car. The top five group also includes Joshua Durksen, a driver for AIX Racing.
Oliver Goethe, from MP Motorsport, secured the sixth position on the starting grid, while Victor Martins, from ART Grand Prix, took the seventh position, with Arvid Lindblad, eighth with Campos Racing, alongside him on the fourth row. Alexander Dunne, from Rodin, finished ninth, with Josep María Martí, from Campos Racing, in tenth, a position that puts him at the front of the grid for the Sprint.
The Formula 2 season continues with the program in Hungary on Saturday (2), starting at 9:15 with the Sprint. The main race is scheduled for 5:00 on Sunday.
