F2: Câmara Executes Strategy to Win Barcelona Feature Race

June 14, 2026

Rafael Câmara won this Sunday (the 14th) the main race of the fifth round of Formula 2, held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. The Invicta Racing driver started from pole position, lost the lead at the start to Alexander Dunne, and chose to stretch the stint with soft tires, later achieving better pace with the hard compounds in the race’s final stages, claiming his first victory in the category.

Second place went to Nikola Tsolov, a Campos Racing driver who also pushed his stop to the limit, this time to use soft tires in the race’s closing stages. Dunne, driving for Rodin Motorsport, completed the podium in third. As the championship leader, Gabriele Mini finished fourth for MP Motorsport, while Laurens van Hoepen of Trident ended the top five.

Dino Beganovic, with DAMS, finished sixth, while John Bennett of Trident claimed seventh after starting from eighteenth on the grid. Noel León of Campos Racing crossed the line in eighth, while Kush Maini, winner of Saturday’s Sprint, took ninth for ART Grand Prix. Roman Bilinski of DAMS completed the points in tenth. Emmo Fittipaldi finished 19th with AIX Racing.

The race featured Safety Car interventions. On the opening lap, Oliver Goethe stalled on track with the MP Motorsport car, retiring from the event.

The next Formula 2 round will be contested on June 26-28 at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
