F2 Barcelona Testing: Rafael Câmara Tops Thursday Session Results

Rafael Câmara was the fastest driver on the final day of Formula 2 pre-season activities, held at the Barcelona Circuit in Spain. After leading the second of the three-day test, the Invicta driver and current Formula 3 champion repeated his performance on Thursday (19th), completing 89 laps and setting a time of 1min23s252 in the morning, which was not beaten by anyone.

The second position was taken by Noel León, driver of Campos Racing, who was beaten by Câmara by 0s274. Nikola Tsolov, with the other Campos car, finished the session with the third-best time, followed by Laurens Van Hoepen, fourth with Trident. The group of the top five was completed by Gabriele Mini, who defends MP Motorsport.

Colton Herta set the sixth-best time with a Hitech equipment, ahead of Mari Boya, seventh with Prema. Ritomo Miyata, driver of Hitech, completed Thursday with the eighth-best mark, while Dino Beganovic, driver of DAMS, was ninth. The list of the top ten was completed by Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, of ART Grand Prix.

On a day when the best marks of the 22 drivers were obtained in the morning, Emmo Fittipaldi finished his participation in the Formula 2 pre-season with the 19th time with an AIX car, after completing 79 laps and being 1s786 away from Câmara’s time. The fastest in the afternoon was Cian Shields, Fittipaldi’s teammate, who ended the day with the 20th overall time.

After the end of the pre-season tests, Formula 2 returns on March 6, 7, and 8, when it holds the opening of the 2026 championship, in a double round scheduled for the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, Australia.
