F1: Red Bull Studies Rear Wing Concept After Verstappen’s Retirement in England

July 7, 2026

Red Bull may stop using the rear-wing concept nicknamed “Macarena” after the incident involving Max Verstappen at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. The team has opened an investigation to determine whether the component played a role in Verstappen’s spin at Silverstone, and it does not rule out dropping the solution in upcoming events.

Verstappen lost control of the RB22 while he was in third place and spun at the entry to the Stowe corner, ending up on the gravel. The episode caused great frustration for the driver and raised questions about the car’s behavior.
