The official ticketing site for the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari has begun displaying a page for a possible Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix of Formula 1 in 2026. The move comes as the staging of the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix remains uncertain due to instability in the Middle East.
On the ImolaGP portal page, the title appears as ‘Official tickets for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix of Formula 1 2026’, accompanied by an interactive map showing the circuit sectors. Among the areas listed are Villeneuve, Acque Minerali and the General Admission category.
Despite the indication, tickets cannot yet be purchased. All sectors appear with the message that entries will be available ‘soon’, in addition to the option for interested parties to be notified. The change also draws attention because an earlier version of the portal, registered on May 13, 2026, listed the event as the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix of 2027.
This possibility of Imola returning to the F1 calendar has gained institutional backing in Italy. Gerónimo La Russa, president of the Automobile Club d’Italia, stated that he is working with the government and sporting institutions to make feasible a second Italian race still during the 2026 season.
“Given the complex international situation in the Middle East, we are working, together with the government and sporting institutions, to be ready to organise a second Formula 1 Grand Prix in our country in the coming months, still during the current season. Imola is the ideal venue to host a new Grand Prix of the premier world championship,” he declared.
The mayor of Imola, Marco Panieri, also stated that dialogue with the sector continues. According to him, works and investments at the circuit progressed with the aim of enabling the track’s return, while contacts with F1 remained active: “Our channels of dialogue with Formula 1 have never been interrupted,” he added.
