Rafael Câmara took another important step in his path toward Formula 1. The Brazilian driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy participated this Wednesday (the 17th) in a Historic Car Test (TPC) in Barcelona, piloting the SF-25 from the Italian team.
The activity occurred just days after the Barcelona Grand Prix and reinforces Ferrari’s confidence in one of its top talents from the grassroots ranks. Câmara had the opportunity to push the 2025 car to speed while sporting the number 39 during the session held at the Catalan track.
As a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Câmara arrives at the test at a positive moment in his career. The driver is contesting the 2026 Formula 2 season, after winning the Formula 3 title, establishing himself as one of the leading prospects in Brazilian motorsport.
In the Formula 2 standings, the Brazilian currently sits third with 69 points. Ahead of him are Gabriele Mini, the championship leader with 86 points, and Nikola Tsolov, who has 80.
The recent performance also helped raise his visibility within the paddock. In the latest F2 round, held precisely in Barcelona, Câmara claimed pole position and converted the top spot on the grid into victory in the main race staged on Sunday.
This result reinforced his title challenge in Formula 2 and broadened expectations around his future. The opportunity to test a Ferrari car emerges as another important step in his development within the Italian team’s young-driver program.
