Formula 1 witnessed yet another historic chapter being written this Sunday at the Monaco Grand Prix. With the victory along the streets of Monte Carlo, Kimi Antonelli achieved unprecedented marks in the sport and reinforced Mercedes’ dominance at the start of the 2026 season.
The Italian secured his fifth consecutive win, becoming the first driver in history to win the first five races of his career in a row. Furthermore, he joined a select group of only ten drivers who have won five Grands Prix in a row, alongside names such as Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, and Nigel Mansell.
The triumph also brought other pivotal records. Antonelli became the youngest driver ever to win the Monaco Grand Prix and also the youngest to achieve a Grand Slam—a feat accomplished when a driver starts from pole, leads every lap, wins the race, and sets the fastest lap. The result also ended an Italian drought in the Principality that had lasted since Jarno Trulli’s victory in 2004.
Atrás do piloto da Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton terminou em segundo lugar e repetiu seu melhor resultado pela Ferrari, obtido anteriormente no GP do Canadá. Outro destaque da corrida foi Isack Hadjar. O piloto da Red Bull terminou em terceiro lugar, conquistando seu melhor resultado com a equipe e igualando sua melhor colocação na Fórmula 1, obtida anteriormente no GP da Holanda de 2025. A Racing Bulls também celebrou seu primeiro final de semana da temporada com os dois carros pontuando, graças ao quinto lugar de Liam Lawson e ao sexto de Arvid Lindblad.
No campeonato, Antonelli ampliou sua liderança para 156 pontos. Entre os construtores, a Mercedes segue invicta em corridas principais em 2026, somando cinco vitórias com Antonelli e uma com Russell, e lidera com folga o Mundial, com 244 pontos, à frente da Ferrari, que soma 165.
