F1 2026: Sergio Perez Boosts Cadillac’s Competitiveness Hopes, Vows to “Surprise” with Impressive Performance

October 14, 2025

Sergio Pérez has shown faith in the Cadillac project for Formula 1 in 2026. The Mexican pointed out that the team will evolve throughout the season and will surprise the fans.

After a year away from the grid due to his departure from Red Bull at the end of 2024, the driver returns to the category next year alongside Valtteri Bottas. The duo will be responsible for defending the American team in its first year in the peloton.

And even arriving as a rookie and with a regulatory turnaround, things are moving forward. So much so that Checo has shown that he believes in the work of Cadillac and said he thinks many will be surprised by the US team.

“The goal is to arrive ready as a team for the first race. If we can do that, I believe the potential is immense. A year of Formula 1 means many races, we will evolve. Meanwhile, we need to be a solid team”, he commented.

“I’m sure we’ll surprise and that we can score points at the beginning of the season”, he added.
