Check the schedule and where to watch on TV the Qatar stage of Formula 2

December 25, 2025

After more than two months of waiting, Formula 2 is heading into the final phase of the 2025 season, starting this weekend with the Qatar stage, scheduled to take place at the Lusail circuit. This will be the penultimate double round of the year for the main Formula 1 feeder category, which still has five drivers with title chances in its decisive stretch.

Leonardo Fornaroli leads the championship with 188 points and is attempting to win the title in his first year in F2, a year after winning the Formula 3 title. Jak Crawford is in second place with 169 points, followed by Luke Browning, who is third with 161 points. Richard Verschoor, with 151 points, and Alexander Dunne, with 130 points, round out the list of championship contenders.

The list would also have included a sixth name: Josep María Martí. However, the Spanish driver signed a contract with Cupra to compete in the 2025/2026 Formula E season, which will begin next week with the São Paulo ePrix. As a result, the driver will no longer compete in F2 and will be replaced by Bulgarian Nikola Tsolov at Campos Racing.

As is customary, Friday will feature the only free practice session of the weekend and the qualifying session that will define the grids for the two races of the stage. Saturday will have the Sprint starting at 13:20, while the main race will start at 9:00 on Sunday. BandSports will broadcast the complete F2 programming in Qatar.
