Almansa Secures Moto3 Pole Position at Misano

David Almansa claimed pole position for the San Marino Grand Prix, the 14th round of the 2026 Moto3 season. In the final phase of qualifying held on Saturday (12) at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy, the Intact GP rider posted his best lap at 1:40.612, earning the top honor for Sunday’s race.

The second spot on the starting grid went to Brian Uriarte, a rider for Ajo who was beaten by Almansa by 0.217 seconds. The front row also features Joel Kelso, third with GRYD Racing. Valentín Perrone, from Tech3, starts from fourth position, while Máximo Quiles, the championship leader, lines up fifth with Aspar. Matteo Bertelle, from MTA, completes the group of the six best on the grid.

Connor O’Gorman, from SIC58, starts from seventh position on Sunday, while Rico Salmela, from Tech3, finished eighth. Álvaro Carpe begins the race in ninth aboard an Ajo, while Scott Ogden moves to the fourth row after qualifying tenth with CIP. Adrián Fernández, from Leopard Racing, and Riusey Yamanaka, from MSI, round out the list of the 12 best.

The Moto3 San Marino Grand Prix will be contested this Sunday, with the start scheduled for 6:00 a.m.
