F1: Gasly at Interlagos hopes rain will help him repeat podium finish — I’m excited

November 5, 2026

Pierre Gasly is excited to race in the São Paulo Grand Prix of Formula 1 this weekend, especially due to his strong track record at the circuit in recent races, counting on two podiums.

The Alpine driver has had very positive spells at the Interlagos circuit. In the eight times he has competed in Brazil, he managed to score points six times, earning a second place in 2019 and a third place in 2024.

Then, in a press conference held on Thursday (the 5th), F1MANIA.NET recalled the positive statistic about the Frenchman and asked if he expects more points this weekend. “You just improved my day, because I didn’t know that statistic,” he replied.

“And, well, I woke up at six in the morning today to take a doping test, so I’m not exactly in the best mood. Because I had a night from hell… a really bad night,” he continued.

“But yes, it’s a great start, and I love this place. This is the only circuit where I’ve managed two Formula 1 podiums. The first was in 2019, and then in 2024, under rain. And it looks like it will rain on Sunday, so I’m very excited,” he concluded.
