Izán Guevara won this Sunday (the 20th) the Austrian Grand Prix, the 15th round of the 2026 Moto2 season. The Pramac rider seized the lead at the Red Bull Ring early in the race and proved dominant over the 23 laps to take the victory, his second this year in the intermediate class of the MotoGP World Championship.
Second place went to Filip Salac, who started from pole position with the American Racing Team, but could not sustain the lead. The podium also included David Alonso, who completed the podium with Aspar. Championship leader Manuel González finished the race in fourth with Intact GP, followed by Iván Ortolá, fifth with MSI.
Alonso López finished the race in sixth place on a Gresini bike, followed by Daniel Holgado, seventh with Aspar. Barry Baltus crossed the line eighth with Fantic Racing, with Deniz Oncu of Marc VDS in ninth. Luca Lunetta, the SpeedRS rider, closed the group of the ten best.
The race featured crashes at the Red Bull Ring. Alex Escrig fell from his KLITN bike on lap ten and exited the contest. Senna Agius retired to the pits with problems.
The 2026 Moto2 season will resume on October 4 with the Japanese Grand Prix, scheduled for the Motegi circuit.
