Rafael Câmara, the driver for Invicta Racing in Formula 2, moved even closer to the championship lead after the 11th round of the 2026 season, which wrapped up this Sunday (13) at Madring, the circuit located in Madrid, Spain. The Brazilian finished sixth in Saturday’s Sprint and, this morning, closed the main race in tenth, narrowing the gap at the top of the standings from 11 to seven points.
After securing a third-place grid position for the main race on Friday, Câmara started eighth in the Sprint and gained two positions, finishing sixth, while his main title rival retired. On Sunday, the Ferrari Driver Academy member witnessed a Safety Car deployment and a ten-second addition challenged him, but he overtook the title rival on the track and finished tenth, earning another point.
With three rounds left in the championship, Câmara reached 170 points, compared with 177 for the leader. The Brazilian’s season so far includes two wins, achieved in Barcelona and Spa-Francorchamps, as well as six podiums and five pole positions, the most among all drivers on the grid.
The F2 season 2026 resumes in two weeks, when it heads to Azerbaijan to hold the 12th round, scheduled for the street circuit in Baku, the Azerbaijani capital.
