A Rodin Motorsport driver, Pedro Clerot, closed on Sunday the 13th his first season in Formula 3 with yet another podium. After winning the main race on Saturday in Madrid, the Brazilian completed the morning’s contest in third place, a result that left him sixth in the championship at the end of the nine rounds.
Clerot started from third and remained in the mix for the race lead throughout the event. On a circuit where overtaking was notoriously challenging, the Brazilian held his position to secure his fifth podium of the season in his debut year in the feeder category to Formula 1. In addition, the driver of car number 17 posted six top-5 finishes and scored points in six rounds of the year.
“It was a very strong weekend for us, both for me and the team. I’m very happy that we managed to finish the season on a high note. As I said before, it was a very tough year for us, but ending it like this makes everything even more special. I’m very pleased with the work we did after the tests and also at Monza,” Clerot said shortly after the race.
“We knew, upon arriving here, that we had good chances to fight, but I try not to think about the results and just focus on the work. That’s what we did and that’s what we achieved. Yesterday was a very good race; we won and controlled everything completely. Today, we earned solid points for the teams’ and drivers’ championships. Obviously, I’m very happy. Maybe we could have fought a bit more, but I’ll take it this way. After such a difficult year, it’s nice to finish like this,” adds Pedro Clerot, who is sponsored by Banco BRB.
The weekend’s results also helped Clerot secure a place in the top 10 of the standings, where he was for most of the year. The inaugural F4 Brazil champion closed his F3 campaign this year in sixth place, totaling 88 points, tied with the fifth-placed driver in the standings.
With the season ending on Sunday, F3 turns its attention to 2027. The category has yet to release the calendar for the upcoming year.
