Second in the Formula 3 championship standings, Freddie Slater was the fastest driver in the sole free practice for the seventh round of the 2026 season. In the session held at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary, the Trident driver clocked his best lap at 1min33s947, not being surpassed by his rivals.
Second place went to Brando Badoer, a Rodin Motorsport driver who was 0.135 seconds behind Slater. Pedro Clerot, a Brazilian who is Badoer’s teammate, finished third, followed by Jin Nakamura, fourth with Hitech. The top five was completed by Theophile Nael, fifth with Campos Racing.
Enzo Deligny, with a Van Amersfoort car, was sixth fastest, ahead of Nicola Lacorte, seventh with DAMS. Ugo Ugochukwu, the championship leader and driver for Campos Racing, posted the eighth time of the session, with Mattia Colnaghi, from MP Motorsport, finishing ninth. Maciej Gladysz, from ART Grand Prix, was tenth. Fernando Barrichello, from AIX Racing, was 29th.
From 10:00, the qualifying will be held to determine the starting positions for the weekend’s two races. The Sprint is scheduled for 5:05 on Saturday, while the main race begins at 3:40.
