Rafael Câmara Finishes Fourth in Austria, Stays Among F2 Leaders

June 28, 2026

Brazilian driver making his Formula 2 debut season, Rafael Câmara clinched fourth place in the race that closed the championship’s sixth round, contested on Sunday morning (28) at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The driver of Invicta Racing’s car number 1 started from fifth and remained throughout the 40 laps in the pack that battled for the podium.

Câmara opted for a strategy in which he started on ultrasoft tires, making the pit stop in the first half of the race, later switching to soft compounds. The Brazilian endured a tough duel with Alexander Dunne, managing to overtake. In the end, Rafael also had to fend off the advances of drivers who used the opposite strategy to his, securing fourth place.

“It was a very intense weekend, on one hand, because the races have more action with the DRS zone, which makes a big difference. But it was a good weekend for the championship. We scored well and, in these moments, we have to maximize what is possible. That’s what makes the difference at the end of the championship,” said Rafael Câmara, who remains in third place in the standings, now with 82 points.

The next round of Formula 2 is scheduled for the upcoming weekend, when the category heads to England for a double-header at the Silverstone Circuit.
