Rafael Câmara Seeks to Close Gap on F2 Leader in Austria After Victory

June 23, 2026

Rafael Câmara, the driver for Invicta Racing in the 2026 Formula 2 season, arrives in strong form for the sixth round of the year, set to take place at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The Brazilian rider comes off a victory in the latest double-header held in Barcelona, has advanced to third in the standings, and now aims to narrow the gap to the leaders even further.

Câmara, who is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, carried out a test with the Italian Formula 1 team last week, and now turns his attention back to the feeder-category championship. The driver of the No. 1 car emphasises that there are still many rounds left to the season’s end and believes in the team’s work to secure more victories.

“I think there are still so many races ahead that a lot can still happen. It is always good to compete for the championship and fight for wins. But I think we are in a good position. We keep doing our job and I feel very privileged to be part of this,” Rafael Câmara said.

Câmara has scored points in at least one race in each of the five rounds contested so far in the 2026 Formula 2 season. The driver has one victory, three podiums, seven top-10 finishes, and two pole positions across the five double-header rounds. All of this places the Brazilian in third in the standings, with 69 points.

The Formula 2 schedule in Austria will open on Friday, when the lone free practice session and the qualifying take place. The Sprint is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, while the main race has a start at 5:10 a.m. Sportv, Globoplay and F1TV will broadcast all activities.
