Rafael Câmara: Barcelona Preseason Leader Eyes Return to Spain’s Top Flight

June 11, 2026

A member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Rafael Câmara arrives in Barcelona, Spain, with good expectations to move up in the Formula 2 championship. It was precisely at the Catalan circuit where the Invicta Racing driver posted the fastest lap in the category’s pre-season and he believes he has a strong car to chase a victory in the fifth round of 2026.

“In Barcelona I was very happy with the result of the preseason test. It was a positive few days and we worked well as a team. We managed to try many different things and that guided us toward the right path at the start of the season. Obviously, the temperature was different because of the cold (in February), now it’s warmer, but I think we are in a good condition,” says Câmara, who sits seventh in the championship and is driving Invicta Racing’s No. 1 car.

In addition to Rafa posting fast times in the preseason in Barcelona, the circuit also holds fond memories from last year, when Câmara dominated the main Formula 3 race with pole position, the fastest lap, and the victory.

The Barcelona schedule will begin this Friday with the only free practice at 6:05 a.m., followed by qualifying at 10:55 a.m. on the same day. The Sprint is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, while the main race will be contested from 6:25 a.m. on Sunday. The events will be broadcast live on Sportv3, Globoplay and F1TV.
