The Brazilian Rafael Câmara secured another top-10 in the 2026 Formula 2 season this Saturday (6), by finishing the Sprint race of the championship’s fourth round, held on the street circuit in Monte Carlo, Monaco, in eighth place. The result earned another point for the Invicta Racing driver.
Câmara, who had secured pole position for Sunday’s race, started from tenth due to the inversion of grid positions for the Sprint. In the early meters, the Brazilian moved into the points zone, taking eighth place. With an extremely tight track and a race without incidents, the current Formula 3 champion went on to finish the race.
“It wasn’t the most fun race, a bit dull, to be honest, but Monaco can be like that. I was trying to set the fastest lap, but in the end, I didn’t feel very comfortable attempting that either. So we limited ourselves to a few consecutive laps at a rapid pace to assess the balance for tomorrow and understand what we need to improve,” said Rafael Câmara, the driver who is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy.
“But I am happy, we had a good start today, we managed to reach eighth position and, thus, claim a point, which is always important for the championship. I am very happy with today’s day and now we are just analyzing what we need to improve for tomorrow,” completed the Invicta Racing Brazilian.
The result this morning guarantees Câmara one more race in the points zone, repeating the performance of the other three double-headers, when the Brazilian scored in at least one race. Rafael has accumulated two podiums and four top-ten finishes in at least one race in every double-header.
The main race of the Monaco round of Formula 2 will be held on Sunday, starting at 4:25. Sportv, Globoplay and F1TV will broadcast the race.
