Noel León won on Saturday (6) the Sprint of the fourth round of Formula 2, contested on the street circuit laid out in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The Campos Racing driver started from pole position and remained at the front throughout the 30 laps of the race. The result marks his second victory of 2026, always in the weekend’s short race format.
The runner-up spot went to Roman Bilinski, a DAMS driver who stayed in close contact with León for the duration of the race. The podium also featured Gabriele Mini, the championship leader and a driver for MP Motorsport. Joshua Durksen, from Invicta Racing, finished fourth after fending off attacks from Dino Beganovic, who brought DAMS’s second car up to fifth.
Martinius Stenshorne, representing Rodin Motorsport, completed the sprint in sixth, followed by Kush Maini in seventh for ART Grand Prix. Brazilian Rafael Câmara completed the points in eighth after starting tenth and climbing two positions at the start. Alexander Dunne, from Rodin, and Nikola Tsolov, of Campos Racing, finished in the top ten. Emmo Fittipaldi ended in 17th with AIX Racing.
The race unfolded without incidents, nor was there a Safety Car deployment, but there was a penalty issued to Laurens van Hoepen. The Trident driver capitalized on a run-off to gain places and received a ten-second penalty. As a result, the Dutchman dropped from 15th to 19th. In terms of overtaking, Mari Boya’s move on Van Hoepen drew attention, lifting him to 14th place.
The main Monaco round race of the Formula 2 season is scheduled for 16:25 local time on Sunday (7).
